A United States Ski Association sanctioned National Ranking List event will be held on the Jim Whisenhant Ski Trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area in Fairbanks on Sunday, November 22, 2009, beginning at 10:30am.  Competition distances are 5km for women and J2 boys and 10km for all men's classes J1 and up.  All events will be interval start events in classic technique. 

The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks recommends Wedgewood Resort for accommodations.  Wedgewood Resort has always done a great job of accommodating cross country skiers.  They provide dedicated, heated waxing areas for guests, which are invaluable.  One-bedroom units can comfortably accommodate four people and two-bedroom units can comfortably accommodate six people.  Ask for rate NRL2009.  One-bedroom units will be $70 for the first two occupants, and $5 for each additional occupant.  Two-bedroom units will be $95 for the first two occupants, and $5 for each additional occupant.  A local rooms tax of 8% is charged on all room rates.  Wedgewood Resort is conveniently located less than 10 minutes drive from the Birch Hill Recreation Area.

The entry fee for this event, if entered separately from the USSA-sanctioned portion of the race on Saturday, November 21st, is $20.  A skier may enter both races for $30.
